Topic: Rise Up and Take Action in Your Community and Beyond!
Bio: Elizabeth is a marine biologist, conservationist, activist, animal rescuer and dedicated change maker. She has studied issues of sustainable development and conservation science in South Florida, Scandinavia and throughout the Caribbean, providing a multi-faceted understanding of pressing environmental concerns and solutions. She utilizes this knowledge to educate the general public about the detrimental impacts of our disposable society, providing practical tips on how to embrace minimalism and be a steward for this planet.
Elizabeth is very active in grassroots activism in Florida and beyond. She has traveled around the world attending vigils, outreach events and protests to educate people of the devastating effects of the meat, dairy and egg industries on the environment, human health and in the lives of countless animals. She works with local communities and non-profit organizations to educate the public about the many benefits of veganism and its vital role in achieving a sustainable future. Elizabeth utilizes social media as a platform to discuss issues of environmental health, social justice, and animal rights. She is dedicated to exposing and ending cruelty to animals by promoting an ethical, vegan lifestyle.
Elizabeth volunteers with local animal rescue groups and a wildlife rehabilitation center to provide hands-on assistance to animals in need. She also independently rescues and cares for injured and orphaned kittens and puppies. Her life mission is to create a future where animals no longer suffer at the hands of humans and she’s willing to do anything to make that vision a reality.
Topic: Perfect Human Food
Bio: Scott is the author of “The Chimp Diet” and is now working on his 2nd book titled “Perfect Human Food”. His interests are focused on Nutritional Biology and the natural selection of feeding, relating to animals in general, but especially our closest living relatives, African Apes. More specifically, the evolution of the Human Digestive Physiology and Gut Microbiome with respect to our original natural diet in comparison to the current Standard American Diet (SAD) in relationship to modern day “diet-related” illnesses, diseases and longevity – in hopes of solving global health issues.
Topic: How the plant-based economy can save our planet from ecological disaster.
Bio: As a grassroots candidate for Congress, Tim Canova has become a leading voice for protecting Florida’s fragile ecosystem by ending the huge federal subsidies for fossil fuels and factory farming, and converting to renewable energy and the organic plant-based economy. Tim is a Professor of Law and Public Finance at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in Davie/Ft. Lauderdale. His scholarly research has focused primarily on financial markets, corporate governance, and international trade. Tim argued for years against the deregulation of Wall Street and warned of an impending crisis in the bubble economy prior to the 2008 financial collapse.
Tim received his A.B. degree from Franklin and Marshall College and his J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. He practiced law in New York City, served as a legislative assistant to the late U.S. Senator Paul E. Tsongas, and was a Swedish Institute Visiting Scholar at Stockholm University. He previously taught at the Chapman University School of Law in Orange County, California, where he served as associate dean for academic affairs and the Betty Hutton Williams Professor of International Economic Law and taught an occasional seminar in animal law. He was first granted tenure at the University of New Mexico School of Law and has taught as a visitor at the University of Arizona College of Law and the University of Miami School of Law.
In 2016, Tim challenged Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, then the chair of the Democratic National Committee, in a closed Democratic primary — the results of which remain hotly contested. Tim is running in a rematch, this time as an independent No Party Affiliation candidate, in Florida’s 23rd Congressional district, which covers northern Miami-Dade and southern Broward counties. Tim refuses to accept any corporate money in his campaigns or for Progress For All, a grassroots community action group that he founded and chairs, based in downtown Hollywood, Florida.

Nadia aka “Plantbased Curves” first gained her larger following on social media in large part to her modeling features on music videos for artists like DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Jason Derulo, and Pitbull. Most recently, she was featured in Migos “Motorsport” music video. She can also be seen on published magazine covers such as Smooth Magazine and Black Mens Magazine and her roles on MTV’s Wild N Out! As a matter of fact, she decided to go plant-based while filming on the set of Season 8 of Wild n Out in Los Angeles, and never looked back!!
Nadia is now a NASM certified personal trainer and has just graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and plans to continue to guide her clients on the path to mental, emotional and physical wellness. Her company, Bare Naked Progress, is still a working progress but she is still seeing clients and helping them reach their goals, each and every day!
Her popularity in the vegan community is very important to her but she says she continues to speak to those who have not made the change. “I feel as if there’s a whole group of people out there who are forgotten about because they want to try this lifestyle but they’re scared and don’t know where to begin. I know I was scared when I began and I had nobody to help me! I like to focus more on those people, answering questions, suggesting books and documentaries! Anything that will help them make a change not just for themselves but for their families, the animals and the future of our planet! The future is vegan and the future is right now!”
Nadia plans to continue to try and reach as many people as possible while continuing her own education in this fast-growing community!

Being born in a Hispanic household, I grew up eating a lot of meat. As a consequence, I was overweight, but blamed it on my hyperthyroidism instead of realizing my poor dietary choices.
After having my second child, a close family friend of our’s died within a month and a half of being diagnosed with colon cancer. Having just had my second child, I wanted to make sure I was as healthy as possible for my kids. I decided to research how to prevent colon cancer, and implementing a plant-based diet was a huge part of that.
I changed my diet, started getting on a regular exercise routine and expanded my knowledge in health and diet. I decided to go back to school to study nutrition and also got certified as a personal trainer.
I am healthier now in my 30’s than I ever was in my 20’s, I love spreading the word on eating a plant-based diet, and my passion is to help others along their own journey.
